Weddings at Trentadue always seem to run so smoothly! We think a lot of the credit for that goes to Alyssa, Trentadue’s event coordinator, the person who always seems to say “no problem, I’ll take care of it…” if anything needs sorting out.

But in Kimberly and Chris’s case, there was nothing that needed “fixing”. The weather was glorious, the wine was flowing, and the bride and groom were blissfully happy. We even got to go play on the railroad tracks at dusk!

Baker Beach is one of our most popular engagement session locations, and with it’s iconic view of the Golden Gate Bridge it’s easy to see why. On this particular day (when I met Lauren & James for the first time) I was given an embarrassment of riches to work with – colorful characters, twisted pines, grafittied World War Two bunkers, and perhaps best of all – Laurens warm smile and easy laugh. Ah yes, just another day in the life of a Bay Area wedding photographer!

A Cowgirl Wedding at Atwood Ranch

We always love working at the Atwood Ranch. The setting is gorgeous, the staff are over- the -top helpful, and with Julie Atwood in charge of event design we can be sure there will be a ton of great details and creative design elements to make our job even more fun. When we heard that Breanne and Cole were planning a real cowboy wedding at the Ranch, well, we knew this one was going to be something extra special. And indeed it was. Here’s what Breanne told us…

“Cole and I met on the 4th of July in 2010 in Colorado. I owned a ranch there and Cole was home on leave from the air force and was performing at a country bar that I was dragged to by some friends. Within a few hours we knew we would be soon be married. The only catch was that Cole was leaving in three days to be deployed to Iraq for seven months. We spent as much time together as we could over the next three days and spent the next 7 months calling and writing letters as much as we could and all the while planning our fall wedding at the Atwood Ranch. Cole is an accomplished country musician and a former bull rider, and horses have always been my life, so it was only fitting for us to have a true western cowboy wedding.”

We are super happy and excited to let you know that Tia & Claire Studio now has a wonderful new office in Santa Rosa’s historic Railroad Square. We love this terrific old building, and had been keeping our eyes open for a chance to move in. Well, we finally got lucky! What could be better than a lovely light-filled space to call our own, not to mention the Flying Goat downstairs to provide the best coffee in town. It’s perfect. Allison & Dan at The Carneros Inn

During “high-season” we often get so busy photographing and editing that we just don’t have time to blog as much as we’d like. One of the pleasures of this time of year, when things are a bit less hectic, is that we get a chance to catch our breath and post images from some of our favorite weddings of the past season. We thought we’d start with this one, long overdue, and most definitely one we had a wonderful time shooting!

Allison and Dan married in August at the very stylish Carneros Inn. Nestled within the vineyards and cattle grazing lands that make up the Carneros Wine appelation, the Carneros Inn is a favorite site of ours. Allison and Dan took full advantage of this lovely location to create an idyllic Wine Country atmosphere.

Nargues and Christian at the Legion of Honor

I was thinking about why Nargues and Christian’s wedding was such a pleasure for us to photograph. Apart from the obvious reasons, like the fact that they are a great looking couple and the Legion is a fantastic setting, I think it was mostly about the way they moved through their day, really paying attention and enjoying it all.

When a bride and groom so obviously love every minute of their wedding, it means we get to have all the fun of documenting that happiness– and for us those are the best weddings of all!

A Perfect Day

Michelle & Carl were married on August 27th at the Healdsburg Country Gardens. The weather wasn’t too hot, all the shuttles ran on time, and the bride could not have been more beautiful if she had stepped out of a Hollywood set. It was quite simply… a perfect day.
