Morgan & Asher at The Asian Art Museum

Morgan and Asher’s wedding at the Asian Art Museum combined many of the elements that make photographing weddings in San Francisco so uniquely wonderful; a blend of tradition and the very modern, style and substance, social conscience and social exuberance, and a crew of professionals who can mix it all together and create a gorgeous event.

It was perfect timing that the Asian Art Museum was all dressed up with giant colorful flowers for their Flower Power exhibition, a look that captured perfectly the spirit of the day. Morgan’s pairing of some very funky shoes with her white gown, her group of fabulous brides-bros, and the Lucite chairs and minimalist white color palette for the flowers in the Samsung room exemplified the blending of traditional and more contemporary. As did the over-the-top geode cake, with colorful sugar rocks  spilling out of a crack that look carved right out of the frosting.

The last minute news that a huge rally was planned for right in front of the museum on the big day didn’t throw planner extraordinaire Tosca of Tosca Productions off her stride. She got busy re-arranging transportation, vendor schedules, and dozens of details without sounding worried for a minute. The folks from McCalls catering smoothly shifted gears and re-arranged delivery schedules, and Morgan just said “we’ll laugh about it later” – which is about the very best bride comment you could ever wish for in the middle of last minute changes!

Thanks to an amazing crew who pulled it all together, the day was as perfect as any wedding we can remember – right down to the moment when a group of demonstrators from the rally came over and joined the wedding party for an “only in San Francisco” moment of wedding day perfection.
